Once a relationship ends, violence can often escalate as the abuser loses control. The protective parent, and children, can be in more danger at this time.
In a ground-breaking effort to bridge the gap between State and Federal inconsistencies, VOCAL has a specialised Family and Child Safety Unit that focuses on education, strategies and empowerment for protective parents caught in both State and Federal legal systems. The different legislations between AVOs, Child Protection and Family Court make this an extremely difficult time for protective parents and our staff are well trained advocates to assist clients through the labyrinth of issues.
